And how about… Don’t give us up in the first place. And don’t give up on us. Cherish us and respect us. Teach us better than the negative images we see of ourselves on TV. Talk to us about why the songs we listen to may not be good life advice. When you see us at work, on the train, on the street, in the store, in school… seek first to understand, and don’t let the slave mentality of instant judgment take over. For, that prejudice is a learned behavior, taught by oppressive forces that seek to divide. And conquer. And steal. So… keep us safe. And we will keep YOU safe.
